Signs and Symptoms:
. Severe pruritus, especially at night
. Burrows (linear tracks) in skin folds
. Rash with red, itchy papules or vesicles
Management:
First-line Treatment: Topical Permethrin 5%
Alternative Treatments: Oral Ivermectin for those who cannot tolerate topical treatment or for crusted scabies
Topical Lindane as a second-line treatment
Precautions:
i. Treat all household members and close contacts
ii. Wash clothing, bedding, and towels in hot water
iii. Seal non-washable items in plastic bags for at least 72 hours
